We did it! We have achieved our Bronze Award.

 

This means we can now start working towards our Silver Award. Looking after our People, Planet and Places are high on the Braeview agenda and we are delighted to be on our journey with Green Tourism.

    Commit to minimum stays in our hot tubs pods – we never have more than 2 sets of guests per week to ensure that each hot tub is not changed over more than twice

    Provide an EV charger to encourage guests with EVs

    Use eco friendly cleaning products – better for the cleaners and the treatment plant

    Encourage wildlife with our no mow banking and burn as well as continued planting of trees, hedges and shrubs.

    Protect our dark skies and wildlife with reduced lighting around the site.

    Support local charities where we can, including St Abbs Independent Lifeboat and Berwickshire Marine Reserve.

    Electricity Meter installed so we can monitor our usage accurately

    Investigate and try new cleaning products. We are currently trying Method cleaning products and laundry sheets.

    Provide new bird boxes for our feathered friends around site and on the farm – even better, we can do this with a local charity of School as part of a community project

    Continue to collect the Teeny-Tiny Tiptree Jam Jars that we use for breakfasts for St Abbs Lifeboat as they use them for fundraising.

    Recycle all our old towels with The Berwickshire Marine Reserve or the Coldingham Brave Bayers.

    Supply the Green Tourism Responsible Visitor Charter to guests in each pod.
