    THE BOTHY AT BRAEVIEW ESCAPES

    The Bothy

    Massage and Treatments

Most people arrive at Braeview carrying something: tension, fatigue, a shoulder that's been a problem for months. Morag is a trained massage therapist, and she works from The Bothy on site. If your body needs more than a good night's sleep, a session might be exactly what's missing.

The Bothy is also where guests can borrow a board game, a book, or a pack of cards to take back to the pod.

    WHO THIS IS FOR

For anyone who needs more than rest.

Anyone who wants to go further than rest: whether that means working out a specific ache, recovering after an active week, or simply getting proper, hands-on help to slow the nervous system down. Treatments are open to guests and non-guests alike.

    THE APPROACH

Therapeutic. Not a spa day. Not uncomfortable.

The sessions at The Bothy are therapeutic, not a pampering spa treatment, though they're not uncomfortable either. Morag blends remedial, sports, and restorative techniques depending on what you need. You book a duration; the treatment is shaped around you during the session. A short consultation form is completed with Morag on the day, and she'll be in touch by text before your confirmed appointment time.

    THE TREATMENTS

Four ways to approach a session.

Choose a starting point. Morag will adapt to what she finds during the session.

    01

    Restore

Deeper tissue and remedial work for pain and tension. If something has been building for a while and you want it properly addressed, this is where to start.

    02

    Recover

For active people: walking holidays, sport, the gym, anyone whose body is working hard and needs help catching up. Ideal for mobility and fatigue after physical activity.

    03

    Relax

Slower, therapeutic massage focused on calming the nervous system and reducing stress. Not superficial. There's real technique in this, but the pace and intention is rest.

    04

    Reset

A combination treatment that adapts throughout the session. Pressure, pace, and technique are adjusted as it goes on. Good if you're not sure what you need, or if you need a bit of everything.

    YOUR THERAPIST

    Morag Sallabanks

Morag is the co-founder of Braeview Escapes. Before opening the glamping site, she trained as a massage therapist, and before that she worked in agriculture and offshore oil and gas — industries that gave her a clear-eyed understanding of what prolonged physical and mental depletion actually looks like.

That background shapes how she works. Treatments at The Bothy are practical and results-focused. You arrive with something you want addressed; the session is built around that.
